New Makita Tools Prove that Gas Powered Tool are getting outlawed
The new high powered Makita Power Tools Targeting Gas Tools and Outdoor Power Equipment with the XGT 40/80v. They have release a new XGT 8.0ah 40v battery to power The Makita XGT 14-INCH POWER CUTTER GEC01 (Launching in 2022) as a 80V power tool that uses two 40V max XGT batteries. It’s very similar to the way 36V LXT tools use two 18V LXT batteries. Any two XGT batteries will work, but the new 8.0ah high-capacity runtime batteries work best in this battery electric gas alternative solution.
It’s a full-size 14-inch saw with a 5" cut capacity with inspiration straight from its gas counterpart.
The following XGT Products are launching this month:
Construction
80V max (40V X2) XGT Brushless 28 lb. AVT® Demolition Hammer (GMH02) - The GMH02 delivers up to 27.5 Joules (20.2 ft.lbs.) of impact energy for up to 15% faster breaking efficiency than a corded equivalent demolition hammer (Makita model HM1213C). Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT), an internal counterbalance system, reduces vibration for user comfort. This demolition hammer is AWS-capable (transmitter sold separately). Auto-start Wireless System (AWS) allows for wireless power-on/off communication between the tool and a dust extractor. The hammer also features multiple angle settings, soft start, built-in L.E.D. light, constant speed control and a variable speed dial and trigger.
40V max XGT Brushless 6” Angle Grinders (GAG07 and GAG08) - These angle grinders deliver the power and performance for heavy-load applications. They both feature Active Feedback-sensing Technology (AFT®), which turns off the motor if rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to a stop. Both grinders also feature an electric brake. The GAG07 has a slide switch, while the GAG08 has a paddle switch.
Residential Construction
40V max XGT Brushless 8-1/2” Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw (GSL02) -The new XGT Miter Saw delivers 4,800 RPMs for faster cutting than corded miter saws. It has a large cutting capacity at 90-degrees and can cut up to 3x12 material in a single pass. It has positive miter stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45° and 60° left or right. It miters 0-60° left and right and bevels 0-48° left and right.
An L.E.D. light casts a shadow of the saw blade onto the material for an exact cutting line. The rail-forward design maximizes workspace when up against a wall. Extension wings adjust quickly for material support. The miter saw is AWS-capable (transmitter sold separately).
Outdoor Power Equipment
40V max XGT Brushless Blower (GBU01) - The new brushless blower offers up to 55% more blowing force than a comparable handheld gas blower (model BHX2500CA). It features a cruise control lever with variable speed trigger and turbo boost mode for heavy debris clean-up. The GBU01 can deliver up to 565 CFM with turbo boost. The blower has an in-line fan design for better balance and ergonomics. The nozzle telescopes and features a downward end point to provide more powerful air flow. The blower can get up to 35 minutes of run time with a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery.
40V max XGT Brushless 15” String Trimmer (GRU01) - The new brushless string trimmer delivers high power equivalent to gas, without the hassles. Automatic Torque Drive automatically shifts from 3,500 to 6,500 RPM. Users can get up to 1 hour of run time with a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery. It features the new Rapid Load Trimmer Head, which loads lines in seconds with three easy steps.
Other Products
40V max XGT Bluetooth Job Site Radio (GRM03) - This radio provides premium sound quality for an enhanced audio experience. It features two 2.5” side-firing speakers and one 4” bottom firing subwoofer. There are seven selectable sounds modes for different genres of music.
40V max XGT 13” Fan (CF002GZ) - The fan features a powerful motor that delivers up to 740 CFM on high setting. It automatically oscillates 45° right and left and is manually adjustable 45° right and left, 90° up, and 45° down. Users can get up to 17 hours of run time using one 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Battery (BL4040, sold separately).

Accessories
40V max XGT 5.0Ah Battery (BL4050F) - New 40V max XGT 5.0Ah Battery is engineered for higher output power and up to 25% longer run time than the 40V max XGT 4.0Ah battery (BL4040). It can reach a full charge in 50 minutes or less.
40V max XGT USB Adaptor (ADP001G) - The adaptor features 2 USB ports for quick and easy charging.
40V | 80V max XGT® System
XGT is a system of equipment, tools, batteries, and chargers utilizing 40V max lithium-ion batteries. XGT is engineered to deliver high power to take on high-demand applications, allowing users to completely transition to a cordless job site. XGT is equipped with advanced brushless motor engineering, intelligent digital communication, and superior durability features to outpower, outsmart and outlast the competition.

I've been using the Pittsburgh pro long flex head comfort grip as my go-to for a long time. Picked up the icon one today with 40% off coupon ($32.99) I will compare the 2 in use and probably put the Pittsburgh in 2nd string.

Now do it with the wrenches you say you don't want to compare HF to, with the exact same tests, in the exact same manner, with the same zeal, and torque. I promise you, you will break more than one wrench. See, using a tool the way the tool wasn't intended to be used... well, that's a failure of the person using the tool. "Everything is a hammer" is the mindset.

  • @stauguastine

The Pittsburgh Pro is the only dual pawl ratchet of the bunch, which means the pawls are not as hefty so they won't hold up to the torque of the single pawl ratchets. The older Duralast ratchets has larger teeth and a much lower teeth count, so it will obviously hold up to more torque than the rest of the higher teeth ratchets. Nevertheless, if you are doing finer work and want very low backdrag with a smooth operation, the Pittsburgh Pro win out in that front.

@ClientGraphics why did you not run the same amp hour battery in each drill? I mean you kept repeating the amp hours. It’s like the easiest thing to do for a fair comparison.

I like my snap on ratchets. To be fair its just preference unless you get specialty tools. Sockets are something to compare with accessibility, wall thickness, and bite. It’s one of those things you shouldnt be fighting about if you’re getting your job done… who cares what you use. I have $100k plus in snap on and i dont regret a single cent. Seen people getting everything done for cheaper and thats cool too. Only thing i can say is that i notice i never need to borrow something where as others come to me when their wrenches open up ect

I don’t think you said how many ft pounds the Pittsburgh got before failure in the summary. As you have said over 200 is respectable so I don’t think any of them were below 200 and the S&K has the lowest score if I recall but since you omitted the Pittsburgh score I am not sure

Kobalt 24v stuff is the bomb !! Sold my ''over priced'' Dewalt 20v brushless stuff,, to buy a bunch of misc. 24v Kobalt,, & a real smart move I made there !! A lot of the Kobalt stuff is actually designed & engineered in Germany,, with some of it actually assembeled in Nevada USA. As far as I' am concerned,, there is no better quality /''bang for the buck'' out there. The 1/2 drills,, actually use top shelf genuine Jacobs steel & ball bearing chucks ! It's a no brainer. 😉 I

  • @paulhunt598
    @paulhunt598 17 днів тому

He misuses his terms, backlash and back drag. Backlash is a distance measurement. Back drag is a force measurement. This video is all about back drag and never addresses backlash. Lash is the free play in a mechanical drive system. Backlash is the total lash in the drive train experienced when changing directions. This is important when attempting to compare effective handle arc swing required engage the next ratchet/pawl tooth. Back drag is the force required to engage the next ratchet/,pawl tooth. Both are important to the mechanic. High back drag can turn an un-torqued fastener on the ratcheting back swing. Excessive backlash consumes handle arc swing reducing how many ratchet/pawl teeth engagements are effected. Achieving fine tooth ratcheting engagement that did not compromise tool strength was a major challenge for the tool industry. Snap-On was super late to the fine tooth pear head ratcheting world, frustrating this Snappy user for nearly 3 decades. I owned a handful of the Snappy round head ratchets with moderate approval, but relied on my SK 72 tooth ratchets over my beloved Snap-On tools when fine tooth was warranted. As far as I know, SK was the first to introduce the 72 tooth system about 1980 when I purchased my SK ratchets. If Snap-On already had this design, I was not aware of it for at least another 10 years when I began trying the Snappy versions. I have never seen a Koken tool, but I see strong reviews of them. Snap-On eventually developed their 80 tooth pear head design. I own quite a few. It is a highly superior tool design and finally put my SK tools and Snap-On round head tools to secondary use. My son has recently been purchasing the new Snap-On 100 tooth ratchets. I have seen reviews that Snap-On has some quality/function issues with the new series. I have been retired for years, and likely can no longer justify the Snappy expense for the 100 tooth ratchets, so I don't plan on experimenting. Koken looks great from the head size and fabulous back drag. I would like to see a backlash comparison and strength and service life comparison. Availability and cost comparisons are other related considerations. This review is meaningful, but in the nerdy world of ratchet comparison misusing specific technical terms is not very helpful. Japan turned the USA manufacturing world on its head yet has not punched deeply into the USA tool market. Japan beat up the USA automotive industry, electronic industryand did the same to the USA machine tool industry. It will be interesting to me to see if Japan will beat up the USA tool industry too.

I have a small M2 or M3 set or grub screw in my bike hydraulic fill/bleed hole. It is lock-tighted in so much by the factory that the normal hex key rounded it first try. I don't want to use heat because there's an o-ring and hydraulic fluid in there and plastic components around it. Do they make removal tools small enough for M2 set or grub screws? Another suggestion you didn't cover is to use adhesive like epoxy or JB weld to bond the hex key to the screw, but I like the idea of hammering in a larger bit.
